As a psychologist, Lyanne endeavours to create a space for the client to freely and comfortably express what’s on their mind. She believes that therapy is a collaborative process between the client and their therapist, where they are the driver and she is the facilitator. Often, seeking help can seem like a herculean task in itself, and Lyanne strives to help you ease into it by providing a safe, confidential space filled with warmth, and devoid of judgement.
Using an eclectic approach tailored per the client’s needs, one of the greatest strengths she has to offer here is her curiosity- a genuine wish to get to know the client and the world around them. She also considers her empathetic approach to be one of her strong suits. Her areas of interest include self-esteem concerns, interpersonal relationships, anxious feelings, procrastination etc.
She entered this field with a goal to contribute towards the accessibility of mental health services across all populations. During the course of her M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology at CHRIST (Deemed-to-be University), she realised how much she enjoys being part of a profession that can help make a positive difference. She calls it her way of serving, of giving back to the community that has nurtured her this far and continues to do so every day.
On a personal note, during her free time she usually finds herself either creating art, being in awe of language, or doing something DIY.
