About Me

Darshi describes herself as an empathetic, humble, and patient person who believes that every individual holds an inherent potential for change and growth. She strongly believes that with the right support and tools, people can understand their own minds, confront their challenges, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. Darshi is a firm believer in Carl Rogers’ teachings that ‘the client is the expert.’ When a therapist provides a supportive environment through unconditional positive regard, empathy, and genuineness, the client can feel safe to explore their true self, thus fostering personal growth.

Darshi earned her M.Sc. in Applied Psychology from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai, and her B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach. She has worked with clients from diverse age groups and backgrounds during her time in both the US and India. She has extensive experience across various clinical settings, including community-based support for individuals impacted with homelessness, and specialized Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) therapy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Her background further includes conducting psychological assessments, and intensive one-on-one care for hospitalized individuals managing schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other chronic challenges, along with acute concerns such as depression and anxiety.

Darshi utilizes an eclectic therapeutic approach, rooted in Client-Centered Therapy and supplemented by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques. She is a strong advocate for the transformative power of mindfulness, viewing it as a vital tool for emotional regulation and self-discovery. She is a Registered Behavior Technician in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), which she primarily uses to help individuals with ASD and other neurodevelopmental concerns. Darshi assesses the needs and goals of each client and builds a personalized treatment plan accordingly.

Beyond her professional work, Darshi finds balance and relaxation in her pilates class. She is deeply compassionate towards animals and actively backs animal rights causes. In her spare time she enjoys lighthearted rom-com movies. She recharges by spending quality time with her family and friends, who provide her with the grounding essential for her professional life.
